Food Processing

How will Fluke Connect® enabled test tools make my job easier?

They will help cut problem-to-solution time significantly.

I maintain R&D facilities and equipment and work with scientists to develop new processes. Fluke Connect is helping us address two major challenges.

First, we often want to log measurements from energized loads to identify problems, but have been limited by safety concerns. We can set up the Fluke Connect modules at the load and then move a safe distance away or even out of the building and view the results on a smart phone.

Second, our facility management was outsourced during the economic downturn and we have only a skeleton in-house troubleshooting staff. To better predict potential problems, our in-house staff has been running longitudinal studies. With Fluke Connect we can compare real time data from multiple FC modules (and video) to our data archived in the cloud to get a comprehensive view of our system health.

Fluke Connect tools for small electrical maintenance teams in food processing:

  • One v3000 FC voltage module for taking and saving single phase voltage readings outside the arc flash zone
  • Three a3000 FC current modules for taking and saving three phase measurements – load studies, unbalance, etc.
  • Ti125 Infrared Camera for taking, saving and field-referencing thermal images of critical equipment

Maintenance Supervisor

Waste Water Treatment

How will Fluke Connect® enabled test tools make my job easier?

They will help cut problem-to-solution time significantly.

My job is to ensure that our waste water treatment plant facility runs at peak efficiency 24/7. That requires constant routine and reactive maintenance, and my team needs to have good troubleshooting tools, baseline historical data, and up-to-date equipment records so they can find and resolve problems on the spot.

Our plant is expanding so we need to baseline new equipment as it goes in. The Fluke Connect system will help us accomplish all of that. We can use the modules to log a run at normal and max load and use up to six Fluke Connect modules to estimate reactive power from volts x amps. All the results are right there on our smart phones and we can add notes to the measurements. Multiple members of the team can share measurement information and collaborate on a solution from opposite ends of the plant, which can cut a lot of time from problem to solution.

Fluke Connect wireless tools for waste water installations:

  • Three each v3000 FC voltage modules and a3001 FC iFlex current modules for conducting load studies and saving to the cloud for baseline comparison
  • 805 Vibration Meter for taking and saving mechanical equipment vibration baselines
  • Ti400 Infrared Camera for taking and saving baseline heat signatures of electro-mechanical equipment for later shifts to reference

Mechanical Technician Superintendent

Water Utility

How will Fluke Connect® enabled test tools make my job easier?

They will help cut problem-to-solution time significantly.

I oversee several Electrical/Mechanical Technicians in water districts across the state. We need to document our measurements in the CMMS system, which requires writing down the measurements in the field and typing them into the system. That’s time consuming and creates the opportunity for mistakes.

With the Fluke Connect system we can automatically record, organize and upload measurements in the field without carrying a clipboard or notebook. We can analyze the results-even multi-parameter tests-onsite on our smart phones. Then we can graph the measurements data vs. time to assess whether the measurement variations may lead to a malfunction or are merely due to environmental issues inside or outside the facilities. Best of all, I can see measurements from any of my technicians in real-time on my smart phone and quickly provide extra guidance where necessary.

Fluke Connect tools for field utilities with remote equipment and teams:

  • One v3000 FC voltage module and a3001 FC iFlex current module for taking and saving basic electrical readings to the cloud
  • 805 Vibration Meter for quickly taking vibration readings on important mechanical equipment and saving data to the cloud for management review
  • Ti400 Infrared Camera to take thermal images of electro-mechanical equipment, compare to baseline images on file in the app, and submit to management review

Senior Engineering Manager

Commercial Office Real Estate Development and Management

How will Fluke Connect® enabled test tools make my job easier?

They will help cut problem-to-solution time significantly.

I am responsible for the daily operation and maintenance of a 1.25 million square foot high rise office building. Our tenants expect all systems to be available 24/7. We need to be able to quickly and easily troubleshoot and monitor all systems-electrical, mechanical, and HVAC.

We can use Fluke Connect tools to accomplish that. Whether it’s the Fluke Connect amp or volts modules, iFlex current probe, or DMM, or wireless-enabled Fluke thermal imagers, we can work faster, smarter, and safer. We just hook up the modules at the equipment and move a safe distance away to view the results on a smartphone. The three-phase monitoring will definitely save problem resolution time. So will the ability to zoom into the graph on the smartphone. Plus being able to compare real-time measurements to historical data through the cloud will help us stay on top of potential issues 24/7.

Fluke Connect tools for large scale commercial building maintenance:

  • One each v3000 FC voltage module and a3001 FC iFlex current module for conducting circuit tests outside the electrical hazard zone and saving the data to the cloud for team sharing
  • One v3001 DC Voltage module for testing backup power systems and saving readiness results to the cloud
  • One t3000 temperature module for HVAC heating, cooling and sensor testing
  • 805 Vibration Meter for quickly taking vibration readings on important mechanical equipment and saving data to the cloud for management review
  • Ti125 Infrared Camera to take thermal images of electro-mechanical equipment, compare to baseline images on file in the app, and submit to management review

Instrumentation Electrical Supervisor

Cement Manufacturing

How will Fluke Connect® enabled test tools make my job easier?

They will help cut problem-to-solution time significantly.

I manage all of the instrumentation involved in control, monitoring, and materials weight management systems and supervise all electrical installations, maintenance, and upgrades within the manufacturing facility. Fluke Connect saves me time and improves my ability to supervise. Being able to see what my technicians see in real time from my smartphone or tablet from the other side of the plant or hundreds of miles away truly lets me be in two places at once.

We archive a lot of maintenance outcomes and data in our Computerized Maintenance Management Software (CMMS) system, but it doesn’t allow us to record multiple simultaneous measurements such as three-phase. Fluke Connect makes it easy to capture all three phases at once, graph them, and associate them in Fluke Connect to the equipment being measured.

The ability to access all the measurements from one place and see them in relation to each other will definitely expedite troubleshooting and maintenance.

Fluke Connect tools for batch process instrumentation:

  • One each v3000 FC voltage modules and a3001 FC iFlex current modules for conducting three phase load studies and saving to the cloud for baseline comparison
  • Two v3001 DC Voltage modules for simultaneous two-point measurements within a control loop
  • One t3000 temperature module for sensor testing
